现在还有一部分人在使用比较旧的电脑，而且内存只有也只有256MB或者512MB大小，这些电脑用来打字或者看网页也足够用了，但是要运行游戏或者稍微大点的程序，那就显得比较吃力了。Vista系统新提供了一个ReadyBoost功能，它可以把闪存中的空间虚拟成缓存，依靠其高速随机访问能力为系统进行加速。现在优盘非常便宜，2G的才100元在左右，该功能的前景可谓广阔。不过，该功能虽好，一直以来XP用户却无法享用，直到eBoostr的出现。
eBoostr运行在XP系统之下，可以使用附加驱动器（包括闪存和移动硬盘）作为机器性能提升的缓存，它依靠其高速随机访问能力为系统进行加速，可以同时使用4个设备进行智能缓存，实现与ReadyBoost类似的功能。现在XP用户也可以将普通优盘当内存使用了，下面我们就来介绍一下软件的具体使用。
首先把优盘插入到电脑中，运行软件，双击系统托盘处的软件图标，打开“eBoostr Control Panel”窗口，接着点击下面的“Add”按钮（如图1）。
这时会弹出一个“Add cache device”对话框，在“Select Device”下拉菜单选择优盘的盘符，然后拖动“Select the cache size”下面的滑块来调整作为内存空间的大小，设置好后点击“OK”按钮就可以了（如图2）。
eBoostr的设置就这样简单啦，接下来你就可以享受软件带来的加速效果了，怎么样？非常方便吧。需要注意的是，要把优盘扩充为系统的“内存”，它需要USB 2.0，同时最好使用1GB以上的优盘，这样效果会更加明显一些。
