不久前，微软Microsoft更换了已使用了 25 年的 Logo。新 Logo 由两部分组成：标志和字体。新字体将原有的斜体字 Microsoft 变成 Segoe 字体，字样前加入了红、绿、蓝、黄四色标志。
尽管褒贬不一，但与原 Logo 相比，新 Logo 至少更加简洁明快，脱离了原有的厚重感。然而，这家软件巨头的 Logo 绝不能止于满足于视觉喜好。
首先聚焦于 Logo 的主体——四块色块，红、绿、蕴含了怎样的奥秘?近日微软员工 Seth Eliot 在 MSDN 博客上对新 Logo 进行了解读，他表示，色块代表微软不同的产品。
蓝色，代表微软核心产品——Windows，包括旗下 Windows Live、Server、SQL Server、云服务、Outlook 以及 IE 等产品。
绿色则代表微软的硬件产品 Xbox 和 Xbox Live。
红色代表微软另一大产品线——Office。
黄色，目前尚无定论，估计是代表 Bing 搜索。
微软用这四种颜色向外界传达这样一种信息，在日益流行的移动化、社会化的互联网时代，微软正在朝向搜索、移动、软件、游戏等多个领域发展，而不仅仅局限于九十年代的 PC 软件公司的定位了。微软想做的就是将一切置于一个标志性的品牌下。
从整体上看，四种色彩的组合意味着微软服务群体的多样性。此外，四个方块的组合，构成了一个“窗”的意象，意指 Windows 对于微软的重要性。而规整的方块与微软大力推行的 Modern UI 相适应。
也正是由于左边四平八稳的矩形构造决定了右边的字母不能沿用过去的斜体。而 Segoe 字体的运用是为了与微软产品内置的字体相适应。
微软在其官方博客上这样解释了其新 Logo 的寓意：
从 Windows 8 到 Windows Phone 8 到 Xbox 再到下一个版本的 Office，你会在这些产品上体验到一个统一的外观和感觉，让你在 PC、手机、平板电脑以及电视上获得熟悉而无缝的体验。
