内存条是电脑的重要的组成部分，不一样的内存条带来的效果也是不一样的，很多小伙伴在给电脑加装内存条的时候就会装上不同内存的内存条，那么我们到底能不能给电脑装上不同容量的内存条呢？

一、主板支持

按照正常来讲，只要两条内存条是完好的，单独插入电脑上可以正常使用，那么就完全可以同时使用。只要主板支持使用“12G”内存条，那么就可以正常使用。

如果是一些比较老的主板，因为其支持的最大内存是存在上限的，如果低于12G，哪怕将这两条内存插入，也是无法完全发挥其性能的，有一些主板会不支持，只能检测到其中一条内存。

二、品牌支持

要知道内存条是有很多生产厂家的，按道理讲，只要内存条本身没有问题，主板支持，哪怕是两条不同厂家生产的内存条，也是可以同时使用的。

但在一些特殊的情况下，不同厂家的不同内存，在同时使用的时候，会出现不兼容的情况。如果出现不兼容，那就意味着这两条内存不能同时使用。

所以，如果8G与4G内存条是同一个品牌的，且主板支持，那么就可以同时使用。

三、内存参数支持

现在的内存都是分代系的，比如DDR1、DDR2、DDR3等，如果两条内存的代系不同，那么就不能同时使用。虽然有些主板提供了扩展插槽，即支持2代又支持3代，但一般情况下两种内存条是不能同时公用的。

也就是说，如果8G内存与4G内存同属于DDR2或DDR3，那么两条内存条就是可以公用的。如果不同，那就不能同时共用，而且内存插槽也不支持。而且内存条是分核心频率的，如果内存核心频率不同，虽然能够同时运行，但有可能出现不兼容的情况。

综上所述，电脑升级配置内存条是可以装上不同容量的，但前提是你的主板要支持，并且主板本身的配置性能也要跟得上才能识别的了两个内存条。
